The Friends of the Hagerstown Library will be having an October T-Shirt Awareness/Fundraiser in the library. Get your "Reading is SPOOKtacular" long sleeve t-shirt and show your support for the library and reading. There will be kids and adult sizes and will be $15 each. All proceeds will go to cover costs and support library initiatives.

We often have individuals come into the library inquiring about open job positions and wanting to fill out applications. Recently, individuals have noticed that we no longer accept paper applications. Instead, they've been encouraged to submit resumes. What? Even high school students? Especially high school students. We want everyone in our community to be prepared to succeed. To that end, we will be offering the 1st "Building Professional Skills" class for teens on September 8 at 4:00 p.m. The topic for this first class will be preparing a resume. That’s right. It’s tax day meaning that, unless you file for extensions, all income tax returns must be postmarked by today. The library still has limited numbers of Indiana State and federal forms and instructions available. You can also download all the forms and instructions at the Internal Revenue Service and Indiana Department of Revenue websites. Also bookmark the library’s resource page for a list including these links for your future reference. If you’re really worried about having time to get to the post office, don’t forget that you can now e-file both federal and Indiana State returns. The IRS website has a list of trusted online services. Most of these can also be used to file your state returns.
