Friends of the Library
Purpose of the Friends
The Friends of the Hagerstown – Jefferson Township Library is a volunteer organization that serves to maintain an association of people interested in the welfare of our local public library and to focus public attention on the library.
Our goal is to support and cooperate with the library in developing services and facilities for the community by raising funds for and awareness of the library resources and services.

Joining the Friends of the Library
Forms for joining the Friends are available at the Hagerstown Jefferson Township Library at the check-out desk. The annual individual membership fee is $5.
Volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to, setting up/conducting/packing up semi-annual book sales, sorting book donations, baking goodies and/or helping with library activities. Besides one Spring and one Fall book sale, other Friends-sponsored programs include the Summer Library Program, Spooky Story Time, Holiday Pajama Story Times, and Hometown Christmas @ the Library.
General Materials Donations
The Library is always accepting donations of new and gently used books and movies. While some of these materials may be added to library collections, most items are included in the Friends of the Library Book Sales. A donation is bin is located near the circulation desk.
